Homecoming Week 2022

“AT THE JUKEBOX!”

Break out your dancing shoes and dig out the loose change in your couch cushions. It’s time for Homecoming 2022 and we’ll do it “At The Jukebox.” We’re excited to share the schedule of events for this year’s festivities and all of the fun activities happening around the district, not just at Rocket Hill.

MONDAY
THEME: Monochromatic Day

One color from head to toe! That’s how we’ll start our week. (Psst: We’re a big fan of blue) Plus we have freshman soccer behind Howard B. Thomas Grade School and football at the stadium with the JV and F/S B teams battling Crystal Lake South.

TUESDAY
THEME: Dress As Your Decade Day

WEDNESDAY
THEME: Surfer vs. Biker Day

You get to choose an outfit that screams you’d rather be catching some gnarly waves or laying down some rubber out on the open road. Whether you’re a wave rider or an easy rider, this day is for you. Plus we have a busy day of sports!

The Central Rockets host the IHSA Class 2A Boy’s Golf Regional Tournament at Whisper Creek Golf Course starting at 9 AM. They get out of school to go play golf. Sounds perfectly fair. Plus, freshman soccer get back to work on the fields behind Howard B. Thomas Grade School. The Volleyball squad plays host to Dundee-Crown in a pivotal Fox Valley Conference matchup. The varsity gets underway at 6:00 PM.

Lastly, the annual Fall Festival at Howard B. Thomas Grade School takes place Wednesday night from 5:30 to 7:30 with free games, the scholastic book fair, free pumpkin decorating, and balloon creations. There will be classroom activities and Kona Ice available in the parking lot as well. Lots of fun will be had and it’s all part of our curriculum night. Come stop by and help our friends at the HBT PTO put on a great event.

THURSDAY
THEME: Adam Sandler Day

Comfort doesn’t always equal fashion. That’s always been the case with actor/producer Adam Sandler. Some would call this a preview of what life on campus will look like for some of your students! Others would say this is golden opportunity to pay homage to the Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore star. We’re hoping to get enough looks where our photos could make this theme go viral. Now that would be trendsetting!

Thursday night is the annual Central 301 Powder Puff event. The gates open at the stadium at 5:00 PM with the freshmen and sophomores doing battle at 5:30 PM. Then the juniors will face the seniors at 6:30 PM. Concessions will be made available starting at 5:00 PM with pizza, pop, water and candy all for sale to benefit the senior and freshman class as part of Powder Puff Pizza Palooza 2022. (Say that 3x outloud real fast!)

The bonfire will follow around 7:45 PM after the final powder puff matchup is in the books. Plus while all this is happening, our Soccer squad will kickoff against Jacobs in a key FVC battle at 6:00 PM.

Also on Thursday, Lily Lake Grade School will host its Literacy Night from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. All sorts of fun include a petting zoo, art and literacy activities, raffle baskets, a visit from Anderson Humane and our book reveal for One Book One School. Plus, the Scholastic Book Fair, all brought to you by the Lily Lake PTO.

Prairie View Grade School will also host their Scholastic Book Fair (5:00 PM to 7:00 PM) as part of their Literacy Night as well (5:30 PM to 6:30 PM). We’re looking forward to a great event thanks to the fine folks at the PVGS PTO!

FRIDAY
THEME: Blue and White Day

Time to honor the blue and white as your Central Rockets get ready for a big matchup on Rocket Hill. We start the day with the drumline entrance at 7:45 AM in the cafeteria. Then it’s a day long build up to our homecoming game with Jacobs. The Golden Eagles come in as one of the best in a very balanced Fox Valley Conference for 2022. We want them to face a wild and raucous crowd with an energized student section. Please remember our spectator guidelines in place for events throughout the week.
