Important Updates for April 5 Return to In-Person Learning

Crocus

We are hopeful that everyone is finding time to relax and enjoy family time. As spring break is coming to a close, we wanted to communicate a few important pieces of information. First and foremost, we wanted to thank you for your patience as our staff continues to work diligently to make the necessary adjustments to bring students back to full in-person instruction on Monday, April 5, 2021. This has not been without challenges and we appreciate the hard work of our staff to make this shift possible. Please see important information below regarding transportation updates, student pre-certification requirements, new student schedules, and required quarantines for those traveling internationally.

Transportation

We are pleased to share that the Transportation Department was able to accommodate all of these changes and will not need any parent/guardian volunteers to drive their students as originally expected. All students who are eligible for transportation have been assigned to a bus route and this information has been updated in Skyward. The busing tab has been turned back on and we encourage all families to review their bus information as this may have changed for all students, even if they did not change their learning model. Please keep in mind that for the first few days buses may run a bit late and some minor tweaks may need to occur to your pick-up or drop-off times. We ask for your patience during the first week back to school as we work through our new routes and procedures.

For our students who are new to bus transportation this year, we encourage you to watch this video to learn of some new procedures that have been put in place to provide a safer bus ride to and from school.

Student Pre-Certification Requirements

For our students who ride the bus, pre-certification slips must be completed and shown to the driver each day for the students to board the bus. We encourage parents to remain at the bus stop until your student(s) have boarded the bus. Students without the completed pre-certification slip will not be able to board the bus.  If you currently do not have pre-printed pre-certification forms, please make sure to download the slip here for Monday morning. Please have your child check with the office to get their pre-certification materials (including pad of pre-certification forms, lanyard, and plastic sleeve). These will be provided to each of your child(ren) that will be returning to in-person learning.

For students who are car riders, bike riders, walkers or drive themselves to school, pre-certification slips must be completed and shown to enter the school buildings. A copy of the pre-certification slip is attached here to download. If you are new to in-person learning please make sure your child(ren) ask the office for a pad of these pre-certification slips.

Schedules

Student schedules have been updated to reflect course and teacher assignments that will be active when we return after spring break. These can be reviewed under the schedule tab in the Skyward Parent Portal.

International Travel Quarantine

We recognize that some of our families have been traveling during the break. It is important for us to communicate that if you traveled internationally, we require that students get tested 3-5 days after their return and stay home to self-quarantine for 7 days, if tested. If the student is not tested, we require them to stay home to self-quarantine for 10 days.

We encourage all families to review your child(ren)’s schedule/bus information as soon as possible. For questions regarding bus transportation, please contact the Transportation Department at 847-464-6052. For questions regarding your student’s schedule, please email your building administrator; however, please keep in mind that some administrators are out of the office for spring break, but they will respond as soon as they are able to do so.

We are excited to welcome our students back to school on Monday. Enjoy the rest of your break!
