Semester 2 Attendance Option Selection Process

This window is now closed and selections are final. Any changes to a student’s attendance model will require medical documentation.

As a district we are already planning for the second semester, which begins January 4th. Due to the ongoing situation, we will continue to offer the same schedule options for our students through the end of the 2020-2021 school year. The only exception to this would be if we are required to move to remote learning for all students or if we move into Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois Plan, which would enable us to return to full in-person instruction.

We will continue to maintain our current schedule options for students at all levels. For elementary students, this schedule allows students to attend school in person for half a day (AM or PM as determined by alphaslice) and remotely for the other half of the day five days a week. For middle and high school students, this schedule allows them to attend school in-person two full days each week (either Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday as determined by alphaslice) and remotely the other three days each week. Parents and guardians also have the option of electing remote-only instruction, in which students participate remotely each school day. Please note, we did make an adjustment to the middle/high school schedules recently which shifted learning on Wednesdays. On Wednesdays, these students have synchronous learning until 11:27 am and asynchronous learning for the afternoon.

As we did last summer, we are asking parents and guardians to choose which attendance model (hybrid or remote) is best for their student(s). We will again utilize an online form in Skyward to collect your decisions. Selections are made for each individual student, so multiple students in one family may participate in different attendance models. Please note that schedule and sectioning changes for the second semester may result in changes to a student’s teacher assignment and/or serving school.

This form is now available in the Skyward Parent Portal and will remain open through Friday, October 23rd. Please sign into your Skyward Parent Portal during this time to make your selection for your student(s). If you do not complete this form for your student(s), your student(s) will continue to participate in the attendance option he/she is participating in during the first semester.

This form will be disabled at the end of this window and your decision will be final as of October 23rd. No further changes will be allowed after that time and your student will participate in the selected attendance model through the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
