🔍 The Search Is On

The Central 301 Board of Education has officially launched the process to find our next Superintendent of Schools. Choosing our next superintendent is a critical decision, and we’re committed to keeping our community informed and involved throughout the process.

To help guide the search, the Board has partnered with School Exec Connect, a nationally recognized leadership search firm with:

  • Over 600 successful superintendent placements nationwide
  • A 97% success rate in matching school districts with effective leaders
  • Decades of experience in education, leadership development, and community engagement

School Exec Connect presented an overview of the process to the Board of Education on June 12, 2025. That presentation is linked below for public access.


📅 What to Expect

This hub will be updated regularly throughout the search process. Here you’ll find:

  • Official job posting and application portal
  • Timeline snapshots as they’re finalized
  • Presentation materials and updates from School Exec Connect
  • Community engagement opportunities (surveys, forums, etc.)
  • News and announcements as key milestones are reached

We want all stakeholders—students, families, staff, and community members—to stay informed and feel included every step of the way.


📅 Superintendent Search Timeline

  • July 21— Consultants facilitate a planning meeting with the Board of Education
  • September 22–23 — #Engage301: Community Input Days
    • Board focus group facilitated by consultants
    • Staff and community forums conducted by consultants
    • Online survey available to all stakeholders (open September 22–29)
  • July–November — Consultants accept and screen applications
  • October 20 — Consultants present Superintendent Leadership Profile to the Board
  • October — Consultants conduct interviews and vet promising candidates
  • October 27 — Consultants present slate of 5–7 recommended candidates
  • November 3 — Session 1: Board conducts initial interviews (5:00 PM)
  • November 6 — Session 2: Board conducts initial interviews (5:00 PM)
  • November 10 — Board conducts second-round interviews of 3 finalists (5:00 PM)
  • Late November — Board selects top choice(s), conducts reference checks, and begins contract negotiations
  • December — Board takes formal action on the new Superintendent contract
  • July 1, 2026 — New Superintendent officially begins duties

Note: The Board reserves the right to modify this timeline.
