Central 301 Referendum Design Dive Events
Central 301 administration hosted two public Referendum Design Dive events at Prairie Knolls Middle School and Central High School in September to provide our community the opportunity to review plans for our buildings if the referendum in November were to pass. These plans included:
- Retrofitting needed for CHS to function as a middle school
- Retrofitting needed for PKMS to function as an elementary school
- Retrofitting needed for CMS to function as an early childhood center
- The new high school design
The referendum design plans can be viewed by clicking here. Participants rotated as groups to view the plans and ask questions of our administrators. They were able to make notes for suggestions or questions directly on the plans. Following all four rotations, we gathered to discuss the feedback and answer questions.
Some key conversations surrounded busing for early childhood students at CMS, the possible playground location at PKMS, whether the science lab furniture could be moved and distributed among elementary schools to set up STEAM rooms in each building, and what would happen if the referendum did not pass. We appreciated the feedback from our community as we look towards future planning.
