CMS Students “Tattoo a Teacher” to Support Illinois Shorthair Rescue

Central Middle School’s STAR Club kicked off its first fundraiser of the year with creativity, compassion, and a whole lot of school spirit. Students organized a light-hearted “Tattoo a Teacher” event — featuring temporary tattoos and plenty of laughter — to raise money for Illinois Shorthair Rescue.

Illinois Shorthair Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to saving and rehoming German Shorthaired Pointers across Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. The organization rescues dogs from shelters, owner surrenders, puppy mills, and situations involving neglect, ensuring each one receives medical care and a loving foster home until they find their forever family.

STAR Club students selected this organization themselves, wanting to make an immediate and meaningful difference for animals in need. Their efforts reflect the heart of CMS — students who lead with empathy, teamwork, and action.

We’re proud of our STAR Club members for using their voices and their creativity to support such an important cause!
