Prairie Knolls Middle School has been buzzing with energy since the start of our 3rd Quarter. Below are a few updates from the Falcon’s Nest!

Athletics

The girls basketball basketball season is off to an incredible start! The team is about halfway through and have only lost one game, showing determination and teamwork. Their success is built on relentless effort and phenomenal defense, making the team a tough opponent. Every player on the team works incredibly hard. Our 6th and 7th Grade wrestlers are also having a great season as the team has performed well at the Genoa Kingston tournament and finished 2nd at the NCJC tournament!

6th Grade ELA

Sixth grade ELA participated in an “escape room” activity last week to launch their Graphic Novel Palooza Unit that will ultimately lead them to writing a compare/contrast essay. During this activity, students had to use clues from the classroom, their emails, and even Hotdog Proberts to help find Astrid (a character from one of the books the students will be reading). Congratulations to all the classes that broke out!!

MAP Incentive

As a result of a strong performance on the Winter MAP assessment, PKMS will be celebrating our student’s growth on February 27th by…….playing pickleball! Students and staff will be getting together the morning of our half day to participate in the Masters At Pickleball MAP celebration. Can’t wait!
