Building Momentum: CMS Students Explore Force and Motion with LEGO Spike Prime

Science, technology, and creativity came together in Central Middle School classrooms as 8th Grade Science students put LEGO Spike Prime kits into action.

As part of their study of force and motion, students used programming and code to design and solve complex challenges connected to Newton’s Laws of Motion. The hands-on experience allowed students to test ideas, adjust variables, and see scientific concepts play out in real time.

By combining critical thinking, collaboration, and computational skills, students weren’t just learning about physics — they were actively experiencing it.

A special thank you to teachers Dana Jamrozek, Jill MacDonald, and Stephanie Hartzell for bringing science to life and creating an environment where curiosity, innovation, and problem solving thrive.

At Central 301, opportunities like this highlight how learning can be both rigorous and fun.
