CHS HOSA Students Excel at State Competition in First Year

Central High School’s HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) program made an impressive debut at the state level in its first year as an official club.

Nineteen (19) students qualified for the state academic competition, with sixteen (16) traveling to Springfield to compete in a variety of events including Occupational Therapy, Phlebotomy, Health Care Photography, and more. Competing against students from across Illinois, CHS participants represented Central 301 with professionalism and determination.

The results were outstanding. Nine students earned top 10 finishes in their respective events, including one Illinois state champion.

Top 10 Finishers:

  • Lottie Tsida – Researched Persuasive Writing and Speaking
  • Arohi Santoki – Researched Persuasive Writing and Speaking
  • Zahra Hemani & Khushi Patel – Mental Health Promotion
  • Rohan Shah, Jake Huaracha, & Ranveer Sidhu – Creative Problem Solving
  • David Mancera – Nutrition

State Champion:

  • Sashanth Reddy Karri – 1st Place, Nutrition

This level of success in the program’s first year is a testament to the dedication and hard work of these students, as well as the support from staff and advisors who helped guide them along the way.

Congratulations to all of our HOSA students on an outstanding performance at the state level.
