Graduation Rehearsal

We are pleased to announce an important enhancement to the mandatory graduation
rehearsal agenda. Please review this comprehensive message for detailed information.
Pre-Rehearsal Preparations:

  • Obtain parental/guardian approval by signing the permission form located in Skyward under
custom forms labeled “2025 Graduation Rehearsal Guardian Permission Form.” (This form must be
completed on a device with internet access, such as a laptop or desktop.)
  • Graduates are required to submit responses via the designated Google Form.
    Attire and Personal Items:
  • Wear a T-shirt that symbolizes your intended post-secondary pathway (e.g., college, university,
trade school, or profession) and comfortable footwear.
  • Due to NIU’s strict policy regarding bags, please refer to the attached flyer for specific guidelines
    on bag restrictions.
    Arrival Time at CHS:
  • Seniors should arrive at CHS at the standard start time.
  • Group formation will occur in the fieldhouse, where participants will be organized according to their
assigned bus. Bus rosters will be displayed within and near the fieldhouse.
    Agenda and Activities:
  • The day will commence with a senior procession through the CHS hallways, led by the drumline,
prior to boarding buses. Attendance will be verified on each bus.
  • The group will proceed to Northern Illinois University (NIU) to review the line-up, entrance
procedures, ceremony format, and rehearsal of exit protocols.
  • Following the NIU rehearsal, participants will board buses organized by elementary school for a
“Central Legacy Walk.” This includes a parade-style procession through elementary school
halls, contingent upon prior registration via the provided form indicating participation interest.
If you joined the Central community after elementary school but still would like to participate,
please indicate what school you would have gone to using your current home address.
  • After completing the elementary hall walk, students will return to CHS to collect graduation
tickets from near the fieldhouse. If students opt out of the legacy walk they will return to CHS
directly and be able to pick up their tickets and go. (Participation in the First Annual Legacy Walk is
encouraged) It is imperative to confirm the exact number of tickets required through family
    discussion to facilitate proper distribution.
