CHS Senior Earns CISCO Scholarship

Samantha Sieverding recognized for leadership, achievement, and future in business
Central High School senior Samantha Sieverding has been named a recipient of a CISCO scholarship, recognizing her academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to pursuing a career in business.
Sieverding is one of a select group of students honored through the program, which awards both two-year and four-year scholarships to students preparing to enter fields connected to the future workforce. She was awarded a four-year scholarship and will attend the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business to study accounting.
From an early age, Sieverding developed a strong work ethic and a clear sense of purpose. That focus sharpened during high school, where she found a passion for business and recognized an opportunity to pursue leadership in a field where representation continues to grow.
Her academic and extracurricular experiences reflect that commitment. Sieverding earned second place at Northern Illinois University’s Business Olympics as part of an all-girl team competing in the AI Superhuman competition, applying artificial intelligence to real-world business challenges. She is also a member of the National Art Honor Society, demonstrating both analytical and creative strengths.
According to CISCO, the scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate ambition, leadership, and a desire to make an impact in their chosen field. Sieverding’s long-term goal is to build a career in accounting while contributing to organizations and giving back to her community.
Recently, another CHS senior, Hazel Anderson, earned statewide recognition through the Illinois High School Art Exhibition, highlighting the range of opportunities available to students across disciplines.
Together, these recognitions speak to the strength of the Class of 2026 and the diverse paths students are taking beyond Central 301.
