Central High School DECA Team Qualifies 5 Students for International Competition

Students from the Central High School DECA chapter delivered an impressive performance at the Illinois DECA State Career Development Conference, held March 5–7. In the club’s first year as an official organization, 17 Central students qualified for the state competition, joining more than 3,000 competitors from across Illinois.

DECA is a business focused student organization that prepares emerging leaders in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management through competitive events and real world problem solving. Throughout the conference, students competed in professional role play scenarios, written projects, and presentations while dressed in professional business attire.

Central High School will now send five students to the DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta this April, where they will compete against top students from across the United States and several other countries.
