Scrabble Meets Spring Fun
Mr. Roberts’ 1st grade class at Prairie View took part in a creative and engaging egg hunt activity just before spring break—and it was more than just fun!
Each egg was filled with Scrabble-style letter tiles, and students were challenged to build a sight word using the letters inside. Once their word was complete, they calculated the total points based on traditional Scrabble scoring. The activity combined literacy, math, and teamwork—all in a hands-on, high-energy format that students loved.
It was a great way to review important academic skills while celebrating the season in a playful, purposeful way. Prairie View students truly showed that learning can happen anywhere—even inside a plastic egg!
