Meet Ms. Madeline Brown
Hello Lily Lake families! My name is Madeline Brown and I will be teaching third grade this year. I am very excited to begin teaching in this wonderful community and to get to know many of the students and families. I grew up in St. Charles and graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in music. Before arriving at Lily Lake I was a student teacher and a long term EL substitute in D303. I cannot wait for this school year to begin and am looking forward to meeting you all.
Meet Ms. Melena Miszuk
Hello! My name is Ms. Melena Miszuk, and I am the new 5th grade teacher at Lily Lake. I am entering my 3rd year of teaching, and this will be my second year teaching fifth grade. I graduated from Illinois State University with endorsements in English as a Second Language and Reading. In my free time, I love to bake, go for walks, and read. I am excited about joining the Lily Lake community and look forward to having an awesome school year!
Meet Mrs. Kristin Janisch
I am excited to return to the classroom this school year. While I have most recently been at home caring for our youngest child, I come to this role with experience teaching both kindergarten and preschool. My kindergarten experience took place in the Central School District at HBT.
Originally from Belvidere, my family currently resides in Sycamore. My educational background has been completed at NIU and most recently includes a Masters in Literacy Education with a specialization in English Language Learners which are both areas I’m particularly passionate about.
Beyond the classroom, I lead a busy life with our three wonderful kids, Layla (16), Grady (13), Libby (5), and an educator husband, Ryan. We enjoy staying active by attending frequent sporting events for our older children, finding new to us parks that our youngest child enjoys, and taking daily walks with our almost 1-year-old golden doodle, Poppy.
I look forward to contributing to the Lily Lake learning community this school year!
