Students Earn A Trip Home On A Fire Truck

On Friday, three Twisters from Howard Thomas Grade School earned a special privilege. They were given the unique opportunity to receive a ride home from the Burlington Fire Department in their fire truck.

Students were able to submit a fire safety plan following a recent week of learning about fire safety education from the Burlington Fire Dept.

Upper-grade level students submitted safety plans for administration and office staff to review. The best plans from each grade level (3rd, 4th, and 5th) were chosen and the students who developed the winning plan received this special ride home.

This is a great tradition which highlights some of the many talents of our students, as well as strengthening our school to community relationships!
