FRIDAY FOCUS
Here’s a look at the happenings across Central 301 this week:

Outside Recess Is Back!
Big news! Recess was outside this week! With more tolerable temperatures, students enjoyed fresh air and playtime — and yes, teachers may have been cheering all the way from HBT to Elgin.

Dance Makes History, Cheer Up Next
After a 2nd place finish for Dance at state, the spotlight now shifts to our Central Rockets Cheer teams as championship season continues. Best of luck as they take the floor Saturday in the State Finals!

REWIRED: Internet Safety & Digital Awareness
REWIRED is a new Central 301 awareness series exploring how technology is reshaping childhood, learning, and well being. This week’s focus highlights online safety, digital privacy, and tools families can explore at their own pace — without prescriptions or directives.

CHS Blood Drive — February 19
Central High School will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, Feb. 19 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Wrestling Room 250. One donation can help save lives — consider signing up and making a difference.

Kindness & Connection at HBT
HBT students practiced teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship through SEL gameplay supported by parent volunteers. Kindergarteners also welcomed their 5th grade buddies for hot chocolate and a kindness craft, filling the school with smiles and connection.

PKMS Student Recognition Breakfast
Prairie Knolls honored 6th and 7th grade students for achievement, effort, character, and the PKMS Award. Thank you to staff, PTO, and cafeteria teams for making the celebration special.

National School Counselors Week
We’re grateful for our school counselors who support students academically, socially, and emotionally every day. Thank you for the care, guidance, and impact you provide across Central 301.

January Bus Buddy Winners
Congratulations to our January Bus Buddy winners for showing kindness, responsibility, and respect on the bus. A huge thank you to our drivers and monitors who help set a positive tone each morning.

Registration Date Set
Registration for the 2026–2027 school year opens April 6 for all students, Early Childhood through Grade 12. Additional details will be added to the district website in March.

Thank you for being part of another memorable week across Central 301.
