๐ FRIDAY FOCUS ๐
Hereโs a look at whatโs happening across Central 301 this week:
๐
Kane County Educator of the Year
Congratulations to CHSโs Gemma Gurney, named the 2025 Kane County Educator of the Year! She becomes the third Central 301 educator to earn this prestigious honor. Watch her acceptance speech.
๐ Special Olympics State Walk
The Big Blue Band of Pride led the halls in celebration as CHS honored our Special Olympic athletes with a school-wide sendoff.
๐พ Lily Lake Gives Back
Our Lily Lake community stepped up in a big way! Students donated more than 325 pet care items for Anderson Humane, and through a school-wide effort โ including a student-led neighborhood stand โ they raised $335 to support animals in need.
๐จ CMS Spring Showcase
7th and 8th grade families explored a wide range of student work across the curriculum and the arts during a great night of celebration and creativity.
๐ฅ Breakfast with the Principals (PV)
Several Coyotes were recently celebrated for showing what it means to be respectful, responsible, and safe. They enjoyed breakfast with the principals, shared a few laughs, and even had some tunes courtesy of DJ Hawley. Thanks to these students for being a positive part of our school community!
๐ The Beeโs Knees
HBT 2nd graders got a โbuzz-worthyโ lesson in pollination last week thanks to Mr. Ken, one of our bus drivers and a passionate beekeeper! His visit brought science to life with puns, props, and plenty of sweet insight. The kids were all smilesโno stings, just learning!
๐ (Re)Searching for Answers
CHS student Natalia Yanez presented her research, โThe Experience of Undocumented Student Allies,โ at the 2025 ECC Symposium on Scholarship and Leadership. Her work explored how college students support undocumented peers and the challenges they face. Congratulations to Natalia for representing Central 301 with insight and impact!
