Here’s a look at some of this week’s exciting highlights from across Central 301:

  • CMS at CHS
    Due to a well failure that’s not expected to be resolved before winter break, Central 301 made the unprecedented decision to move 8th grade students over to Central High School. It’s a little bit of history as they become the first students to use the new 20-classroom addition to Central High School set to officially open for the 2nd semester.
  • Strong as Steel 🏒
    It’s been so cold the last few days that the entire student body at HBT has been thinking about hockey! This week, we had a special visit from the Chicago Steel for an all-school assembly and even got the chance to put the puck in the back of the net! ❄️
  • Sweet Connections at Country Trails 🍪
    CT 5th graders teamed up with kindergarteners to share the Gingerbread Man story and help create a special holiday surprise. What a wonderful way to spread holiday joy and build connections!
  • 3rd Graders Engineer Robot Shelters at Lily Lake 🤖🏠
    Third graders at Lily Lake combined engineering and coding skills to design shelters for Dash robots, protecting them from natural disasters like hurricanes and tornadoes. Amazing teamwork and creativity from our young innovators!
  • CHS Science Teacher Kevin Alperin Received a Nomination for 2025 Golden Apple in Teaching Award
    This prestigious award honors outstanding educators for demonstrating excellence in teaching and for having a positive impact on their students’ growth and learning.
  • Storytime & Cookies at Prairie View 🎄🍪
    Our administration joined Early Childhood students for festive storytime and holiday cookie decorating. It was a sweet way to kick off the season and spread cheer!
  • Spanish Feast
    Before winter break CHS hosts a Spanish Feast with several classrooms to celebrate Las Posadas. Staff members brought in a variety of homemade South American food. Special thanks to the fine folks at El Patron restaurant for their food donation!
  • Central High School Hall of Fame Announced 🏆
    Congratulations to the 2025 Hall of Fame inductees! We’ll celebrate these incredible individuals and teams on Friday, February 7, during halftime between the boys and girls basketball games vs. Huntley.
