Friday Focus – February 28, 2025
🎉 FRIDAY FOCUS 🎉
Here’s a look at what’s happening across Central 301 this week:
🍋 Lemonade Celebration
Students wrapped up the first-ever HBT Book Club with a Lemonade War Celebration on Wednesday night. After weeks of reading, activities, and prizes, the event featured lemon-themed science experiments, crafts, lemonade stands, and races. A refreshing way to celebrate the love of reading!
🚀 Blasting Off This Weekend
Students are putting the final touches on their displays for Culture Blast 2025, returning for its third year at Central High School on Saturday, March 1. Expect a day of cultural exhibits, live performances, international cuisine, and interactive activities that celebrate traditions from around the world.
🤼 Girls Grapplin’ at State
Our first-ever girls wrestling sectional champion, Tori Macias, hit the mat this morning at the IHSA State Finals in Bloomington. She and Ryann Miller advanced to the quarterfinals before falling this afternoon. A huge accomplishment for the Central Rockets girls wrestling program!
🏊♂️ School Records Set
Central’s boys swimming team made history at the IHSA Sectional Meet, breaking five school records last weekend. Congratulations to Ryan McEvilly and Logan Langlois for their record-setting performances!
🔢 Doing the Math
Central’s Math Team had an impressive showing at Regionals, finishing second overall. The competition was highlighted by four team category wins and individual victories from Mana Sipayi and Michael Caburian
❤️ Heart Challenge Fun!
What a kickoff at Lily Lake on Thursday for the Kids Heart Challenge! Students packed the gym for a high-energy assembly to see who will be the heart heroes in March. Last year, the Lily Lake community raised nearly $5,000—can we top it this year?? 💙😍
Thanks for staying connected to all the great things happening in Central 301. Have a fantastic weekend!
