Due to a well failure that’s not expected to be resolved before winter break, Central 301 made the unprecedented decision to move 8th grade students at Central Middle School over to Central High School. It’s a little bit of history, as they become the first students to use the new 20-classroom addition to Central High School set to officially open for the 2nd semester.

This shift is also a nostalgic nod to the past, as it’s the first time in 33 years that CMS and CHS students have shared a building. Before the current CHS building opened in 1991, all grades 6-12 attended classes in what is now CMS.

Add in some spirit week signage and smiling faces, students and staff are making the best of it for the next week. Thank you to everyone who’s been so flexible and understanding during this past week, and kudos to everyone for getting the new wing ready to go as quick as they did!

It’s a short-term solution, but one that highlights the resilience and collaboration that define Central 301.
