Central 301 Seeks Applicants for Board Vacancy
The following is a statement from the Central Community Unit School District 301 Board of Education:
“The Central Community Unit School District #301 Board of Education is currently seeking applicants to fill a vacancy existing from the election of Board Member Ryan Wasson to a 4-year term. The individual selected will serve on the School Board from the date of appointment through the April 2027 Consolidated Election.

Applications must be received by 4:00 P.M., May 9, 2025.
Qualified applicants should have the following credentials:
- United States citizenship
- At least 18 years of age
- A resident of Illinois and Central District #301 for at least one (1) year preceding the appointment
- A registered voter
- Not be a child sex offender
- Not hold another incompatible public office
- Not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the District
- Not be a school trustee
- Not hold certain types of prohibited state or federal employment.
Applicants should show familiarity with the Board’s policies regarding general duties and responsibilities of a Board and as a Board Member, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest, ethics and gift ban. The Board’s policies are available at Central301.net.
Please note, as we currently have three Board members from Elgin Township, applicants residing in Elgin Township cannot be considered for this vacancy per state law.
The Board of Education will review all applications, select candidates for interviews and contact those selected candidates.”
