Bus Safety Week
Central 301 Celebrates National Bus Safety Week
This week, we’re proud to recognize National School Bus Safety Week and the vital role school bus safety plays in the daily lives of our students. Our bus drivers and transportation staff work tirelessly to ensure that thousands of students arrive at school and return home safely every day.
Not only do our bus drivers ensure the safe transportation of students, but they also serve as the first and last smile our students see each day. They build connections with students, creating a welcoming and secure environment where each child feels cared for from the moment they step onto the bus to when they arrive home.
During this week, students will participate in bus evacuation drills to make sure they are prepared in the event of an emergency. We encourage our families to talk with their students about the importance of bus safety, including being aware of the “danger zone”, not crossing in front of a school bus without being signaled by the bus driver, and appropriate bus passenger behavior. Additionally, we want to remind our community of the importance of stopping for school buses when their stop arm is extended to allow students to enter and exit the bus safely.
School bus safety is a team effort, and we’re grateful for the dedication and professionalism of our drivers, transportation administration, and staff who play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and smooth transportation of our students.
Thank you to our entire transportation team for all you do – your work keeps our district moving forward!
