BOE Meeting 2/18 Cancelled
The following is a message from the Central Community Unit School District 301 Board of Education:
Tonight’s Board of Education meeting has been canceled and will be rescheduled for a later date. Several board members are unable to attend due to illness and vacation, and under the Open Meetings Act, a public body cannot take votes or actions without a quorum. A quorum for the CUSD 301 Board requires four members, and only three are available this evening.
While we could have convened a meeting for informational items only, we believe it would be imprudent to present information to only a fraction of the Board, as it may need to be repeated at a subsequent meeting to support future decisions. Given these circumstances, canceling tonight’s meeting is regrettable but necessary.
The Board will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, to interview candidates for the vacancy left by Dr. Eric Nolan. Notice of this meeting will be posted on BoardBook. Today’s unforeseen cancellation underscores the importance of promptly filling vacancies on the Board.
Thank you for your understanding, and we appreciate your patience as we work to reschedule the regular meeting as soon as possible.
