Central High School students in AP Art and Ceramics took their creativity on the road this week, visiting the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago to experience Día de los Muertos — a cultural tradition rich in art, symbolism, and storytelling.

Led by Miss Vasil and Mrs. Rovge, the trip gave students the chance to study professional works up close, gain new artistic perspectives, and connect their classroom lessons to real-world cultural experiences.

Students explored vibrant exhibits, learned about the history and meaning of Día de los Muertos, and came away with a deeper appreciation for the ways art reflects identity and community.

Thank you to our teachers for leading this memorable experience and to the National Museum of Mexican Art for hosting our Rockets for a day of inspiration and creativity!
