Learning Beyond the Classroom
Career and Technical Education students visit local companies to see modern manufacturing in action.
Central High School students recently toured several area businesses to gain a first-hand look at today’s modern workforce through the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.
As part of Manufacturing Month, students visited McFona International in Geneva, along with Pactiv Evergreen, Hoffer, Lakeview Precision Machining, Inc., and Babbitting Service — all of which opened their doors to share how innovation and teamwork drive success in their industries.
Collectively, 24 companies across our region welcomed nearly 600 high school students during Manufacturing Month — an incredible show of partnership and commitment to developing our future workforce.
Their time, preparation, and hospitality gave students real-world exposure to today’s manufacturing environment, highlighting the exciting and rewarding careers available in this vital field.
The tours also help spark interest in the regional summer internship program, inspiring the next generation of skilled professionals and connecting classroom learning with real-world experience.
Thank you to all of our community partners for investing in our students’ futures and helping them see where their skills and passions can take them!
