Natural Disasters with Dash Robots
3rd Graders Design Structures to Protect their Robot
In a fun and creative learning experience, our third-grade students recently embarked on an exciting project where they combined their engineering skills with robotics. Students designed and built shelters for Dash robots to protect them from natural disasters. Each group selected from 4 natural disaster cards (tornado, hurricane, volcano, earthquake), and they had to create a structure that would keep their robot safe from the chosen catastrophe while fulfilling key objectives: alerting the public, build a structure, and driving safely into the structure. To bring their ideas to life, students were provided with a limited set of materials, which helped them think resourcefully and encouraged teamwork. Stay tuned for more exciting projects from our young engineers and coders!
