Lily Lake Celebrates Nearly 100 Student Authors
Lily Lake recently rolled out the red carpet for nearly 100 student writers during a special Writers Celebration honoring students who completed original writing projects as part of a home assignment.
Students welcomed family members and guests to an event filled with light refreshments, conversation, and an impressive display of student created books spread throughout the library. Guests had the opportunity to browse nearly 100 published pieces, celebrate student creativity, and recognize the hard work and dedication that went into becoming a published author.
The celebration highlighted the power of student voice and storytelling, while giving young writers a chance to proudly share their work with others. According to staff, attendees offered overwhelmingly positive feedback as students beamed with pride while showcasing their finished books.
The celebration is not over yet. Student books will remain on display in the Lily Lake library for viewing and comments, with classes visiting throughout the week. Student authors will also be recognized again during the school’s final all school assembly.
