Central High School painting, photography, and AP Art students spent the day at The Art Institute of Chicago, taking part in a hands-on experience designed to deepen their understanding of visual arts.

The goal of the field trip was to connect classroom learning with real museum encounters, giving students the chance to see world-renowned artworks up close. From studying brushwork and composition to examining photography techniques and exploring diverse cultural collections, students were able to experience the concepts they discuss in class in a powerful, real-world setting.

This opportunity allowed students to reflect on artistic styles, gather inspiration for future projects, and broaden their appreciation for the role art plays across history and cultures. Engaging directly with pieces they’ve studied brought new insight, sparked meaningful conversations, and strengthened their creative perspectives.

Thank you to our CHS art teachers for providing such an enriching learning experience for our Rockets.
