Central High School welcomed a special visitor this week. Abednego, a trained LCC K-9 Comfort Dog from Immanuel Lutheran Church and School in Crystal Lake.

Abednego spent the day greeting students and staff throughout the building at CHS, offering calming support, a friendly presence, and a moment of connection during a busy school day. His visit was warmly received by everyone he met.

As a certified LCC K-9 Comfort Dog, Abednego serves in churches, schools, nursing homes, hospitals, and community events, and also supports individuals during crisis and disaster response situations. His mission is simple: provide comfort, compassion, and a sense of peace wherever he goes.

Central High School will welcome Abednego for monthly visits through May, allowing students and staff more opportunities to benefit from his supportive and uplifting presence.

We are grateful to our CHS team and the volunteers from Immanuel Lutheran for partnering to bring this meaningful resource to our school community.
