Career & Technical Education
What is Central 301 Career & Technical Education Program?
Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs allow students to develop academic and technical skills that prepare them for successful careers. Project-based learning, teamwork, communication, and application of knowledge all play a part in developing critical thinking skills in every CTE course offered at CHS. The CTE department continues to work on providing embedded work-based learning opportunities at the capstone levels for each career pathway. CHS works in partnership with Northern Kane County Region 110 to provide even more opportunities to Central students outside the doors of CHS, Elgin Community College, and Fox Valley Career Center. CHS currently offers CTE programs in agriculture, biomedical, business, computer science, engineering, graphics, technology, and video.
