Since the spring, Central 301 surveyed families and community members about their thoughts, concerns, and suggestions regarding the referendum. We consistently heard that community members had a hard time voting for something without knowing what it would look like. As such, the Board of Education approved beginning design work in anticipation of placing a referendum question on the ballot for the March 2024 Primary Election.
The images below are early drafts of the architectural layout of a possible new high school building. These images were shared as part of a presentation by Larson and Darby Group, our architect, at the September 18, 2023 regular Board meeting. You can view the design presentation and more images by clicking here. “Option A” is the preliminary design that has been selected to move forward.
It is important to note that these images and designs are very early drafts. Changes will be made as we continue to work with our Steering Committee, which is composed of sectors from all of our constituents, including teachers, support staff, community members, administration and board members. This committee works closely with the superintendent and architect to make determinations on the growing needs for the new facility. Updates will be provided to the Board of Education and community as we work through this process.
